About this course
On your three-year Zoology degree, based in our multi-million pound, state-of-the-art Life Sciences building, you will explore all areas of animal life from cell biology to entire ecosystems, developing an understanding of fields including evolution, conservation, and behaviour through our extensive range of modules.
Teaching from our expert staff, combined with the extensive practical experience you can gain from a broad variety of field trips in the UK, Spain and Belize, will ensure you are fully equipped to embark on a career in a broad variety of fields* from veterinary medicine and conservation, to animal or farm management.
In year three, you will complete an independent research project in an area of your choice and you can also choose to take a fourteen day field trip to Belize, to study tropical ecology, and to spend a semester studying at a university in Europe or Australasia.
Our unique link with world-renowned conservation charity Marwell Wildlife, located only a few miles from our campus in Southampton, provides another opportunity to develop specific interests and expertise in zoology.
