About this course

The term 'creative economies' describes the innovative space where business intersects with culture. This encompasses media, entertainment, and the arts. Key skills that underpin the creative economies include writing and storytelling.

This course focuses on developing skills in professional creative writing. You will learn how to produce creative work oriented towards the creative economies. The course emphasises applied writing skills and storytelling across media. This includes:

  • fiction

  • non-fiction

  • poetry

  • performance writing

  • screenwriting

  • writing for comics and graphic novels

  • writing for video games

    It teaches you how to apply core writing skills from one medium to another.

    There is a growing demand for writers who can navigate multiple forms of media. By studying this course, you will gain a detailed understanding of the creative industries.

    You will also be provided with practical experiences and professional networking opportunities. You will learn from authors, publishers, filmmakers, game developers, and other industry professionals.
