About this course
Our multidisciplinary Tissue Engineering & Innovation Technology MRes offers you the opportunity to undertake research in a rapidly evolving field of regenerative medicine with new developments in tissue engineering, biomaterials, bone substitutes, 3D printing for customised implants and prostheses, imaging, dental restoratives and drug delivery.Gain an understanding of core and specialised concepts in tissue engineering research. Research methods to allow a systematic and rigorous approach to acquiring knowledge in the field. Learn research methodologies and strategies to develop and evaluate biomaterials, cell-biomaterial interaction and imaging modalities. Learn state-of-the-art facilities for cell culture, novel biomaterials development/ testing, and imaging including spectroscopy, microscopy and endoscopy Gain experience in laboratory-based research. Introduction to knowledge and skills required to critically, effectively implement and interpret research findings Gain knowledge of innovation technology – translational research models and pathways to licensing and commercialisation of medical devices. Train with internationally renowned academic staff Develop key transferable skills through written and oral communication of your research findings, time management and analytical skills
