About this course
Course OverviewYou’ll learn core business management disciplines - including management, finance, strategy, operations and economics – and their application to sport. And you’ll start to gain the skills, knowledge and experience needed to become an effective leader and manager in the sports sector. You’ll be part of a unique learning community, with international students, and lecturers who’ve worked in sports management positions. Through membership of the Chartered Institute for the Management of Sport and Physical Activity (CIMSPA) you’ll gain valuable insights into the industry. There are plenty of work experience opportunities, locally and abroad, which will help your career. You’ll be taught by staff with national and international profiles in sports business research who are passionate about passing on their knowledge. This course is aligned with the Entry and General Management professional standards outlined by CIMSPA, the professional development body for the UK's sport and physical activity sector. As a member, you will be entitled to attend seminars and meetings and learn from industry professionals. The Health and Fitness pathway on the course allows students the option to meet professional standards in Gym Instruction, Personal Training, Health Navigator and Working with People with Long Term Conditions.
