The first year will introduce you to foundational sociological concepts, theories and methods such as the individual and society, social inequalities and identity, the impact of globalisation, and quantitative and qualitative research methods.

In subsequent years, you will benefit from a wide choice of sociology units linked to staff research interests. You will extend your training in quantitative research to include hands-on experience with real, large-scale survey data, using advanced analytical techniques and professional statistical software.
