University of DundeeAbout this course
Aimed at graduates from all disciplines, it reflects the multi-disciplinary, professional context of 21st century social work.
We engage both with service users and social work professionals, whose experiences and perspectives have contributed to this course.
We emphasise research-based practice and our team includes leading researchers in a broad range of areas, including health and social care integration, disability, criminal justice, and child protection. Their expertise informs every aspect of our training.
You will gain a strong professional identity, enabling you to function competently and confidently in multi-disciplinary settings, and to strive for social justice.
We have links with a range of agencies across the statutory, voluntary, and private sectors. This will give you practice learning opportunities and broadens the networks that you can establish.
A small number of bursaries are available for Scottish and EU students via the Scottish Social Services Council. The bursary consists of tuition fees, a means-tested grant and allowance, and placement travel expenses. We nominate students who are eligible, but this doesn’t guarantee that a bursary will be awarded. If you are awarded a bursary, it might not cover the full cost of your fees, and it is your responsibility to pay the difference.
The MSc in Social Work is professionally accredited by the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC).
