About this course
Safeguarding children is a high profile area of work, where decision making carries a high order of risk for children, their families and those who engage with them. You’ll develop an in-depth knowledge of child protection work and be able to demonstrate effective, evidence based skills with our PG Certificate (PG Cert) in Safeguarding Children.This course is being reapproved under the University’s normal cycle of review. As such, the course structure and content may be changed to enable the University to deliver a better quality of educational experience to students. This demanding and rewarding course is an opportunity for continuing personal and professional development where you’ll be encouraged to challenge assumptions about children and their lives, and the practices, policies, services and legislation that surround them. You’ll be equipped with knowledge that will help you to critically evaluate past and current safeguarding policy and practice in children’s and young people’s services, early years, education, social work and care and health and community work. You’ll also be able to generate new ideas and approaches to safeguarding policy and practice when working with children and young people.
