About this course

Our PGCE Secondary Religion, Values, and Ethics (RVE) and Religious Studies course is designed to prepare you for a meaningful career in teaching these critical subjects.

As part of our Initial Teacher Education (ITE) programme, this course will equip you with the knowledge and skills needed to gain Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and teach RVE and Religious Studies at the secondary level.

You will explore creative teaching methods that engage students with key topics, such as world religions, ethical issues, and philosophical questions. The course focuses on fostering critical thinking and open-minded discussions, helping students understand different perspectives and develop empathy.

School placements in diverse settings, including urban, rural, and Welsh-medium schools, will provide you with valuable teaching experience and a broad understanding of educational environments.
