About this course

Develop the skills required to be successful in both the uniformed and non-uniformed public services with the Pearson BTEC Public Services HND Level 5. Gain a deeper understanding of the roles within various services, such as the prison service, the criminal justice system, the emergency services, and the military. Explore a wide range of areas, including criminal behaviour, mental health and wellbeing, organisational structures, crime reduction strategies, and effective coaching and mentoring techniques, to provide you with an essential understanding of the diverse opportunities available in the public services sector.

During your first year, you will study a Level 4 HNC. Upon successful completion of the first year, you will then progress on to the second year to study the Level 5 HND.
