About this course

This course is designed for students who would like to work in public services and for those who have an interest in entering the world of criminology and related public service employment.

The course will help you to understand how society functions, how criminals are conditioned to behave, and the role of public services in a changing society. It will also look at how public services can use this information to be more effective in the fight against crime. Upon successful completion, you will finish with relevant theoretical and practical knowledge that enables you to progress to a relevant final year top-up degree.

Progression Opportunities Upon successful completion of this course you may be able to top-up to a full Honours Degree. Many of our graduates have taken up employment in the public services sector including the Police, Fire and Ambulance Services, HM Forces, HM Prison Service and outdoor education and activity centres.
