We have internationally recognised researchers in social cognition, neuroscience, lifespan development, perception, language and cognition and occupational/industrial psychology to help you study and succeed.
We provide a range of specialised laboratories including those for brain imaging analysis, eye movement recording, movement analysis and visual neuroscience. As an integral part of your 4-year programme, you will spend half of year three developing your language skills as a teaching assistant or visiting student at locations including Lyon, Rennes, Grenoble, Réunion, Brussels, Geneva, Lausanne, the IFP (Institute of French Petroleum) School in Paris and the Club des Langues in Anglet.
French has an international reputation for research, covering not just France, but Francophone Africa and Caribbean and the wide range of our research interests is reflected in the Honours options courses we offer. We are a medium-sized, friendly department and the student-run French Society organises a range of social events.
