BSc (Hons) Psychology aims to produce a scientific understanding of the mind, brain, behaviour and experience, and of the complex interactions between these.

Psychology is a dynamic, versatile field, serving as a 'hub' subject that addresses society’s most significant challenges. By systematically analysing and explaining behaviour, psychology contributes to solving real-world problems in areas such as education, health, and industry. With strong links between theory and empirical data, the insights gained from psychological research can be applied across a range of sectors, making it a discipline that profoundly impacts experience, thought, and behaviour.

The BSc (Hons) Psychology program is designed to equip students with the sought-after knowledge and skills that employers value. By focusing on research, statistical literacy, evidence-based reasoning, problem-solving, project management, and communication skills, the course prepares graduates to excel in fields such as Management, Finance, Research, Social Work, Neuroscience, Health Promotion, Marketing, Advertising, and Human Resources. It also opens pathways to advanced study in psychology and related disciplines, as well as specialist careers in Forensic Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Sports Psychology, Educational Psychology, Counselling Psychology or Health Psychology, ensuring graduates are well-prepared for a wide array of professional opportunities.   The degree follows the recommended curriculum of the British Psychological Society (BPS) but does not offer Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership (GBC); this would need to be achieved by undertaking a conversion programme at Masters level.
