About this course
If you have completed an undergraduate degree and now want to build on your academic skills acquired in an area more fitting to your current interests and future goals, our MSc Psychology (Conversion) course is designed to meet professional body standards and help you take that next step into your dream career. Within this innovative curriculum, you will critically explore a range of core psychological perspectives to help you better understand human mind and behaviour and along the way, you will be able to develop your critical reflective skills to understand more about the application of psychology to yourself, preparing you to reach your future goals.
Alongside exploring psychological theory in the classroom and its application to contemporary societal challenges, you will have practical opportunities to develop your research and experimental skills in our new state-of-the-art psychology lab. Our practitioner academics and partners from across the region, who work in psychology related fields, will equip you to work in a diverse range of jobs or progress to study on one of our applied postgraduate courses if you wish to pursue a registered psychologist route. Your modules will build to help you understand problems in the real world and how psychological knowledge can be applied to help us address them.
WHY SHOULD I CHOOSE THIS COURSE?
FACILITIES As a psychology student, you will have access to our state-of-the-art psychology lab. Here you can develop your research skills and put some of your theoretical learning to the test, measuring psychophysiological responses to stimulus with our range of specialist equipment. As psychologists rarely work in isolation, this will be embedded in your course, so you will gain valuable knowledge and experience in multidisciplinary teams and environments across the university. This may include shadowing disciplines such as sport and nutrition, health and social care, nursing and physiotherapy to gain a holistic understanding of the role of psychology in different populations and with different stakeholders.
