About this course

Why Physiotherapy? Our Physiotherapy degree is your path to a rewarding healthcare career, helping people affected by illness, injury or disability through movement and exercise, manual therapy, education and advice. Health promotion and patient self-management are at the heart of our programme, which is underpinned by firm foundations in exercise and health science and covers the core subjects of anatomy, physiology, biomechanics and pathology. You’ll have access to state-of-the-art facilities including skills, biomechanics and physiology labs, treatment rooms, rehabilitation space, fitness, strength and conditioning suites, a mock hospital ward and a simulated environment for practising healthcare delivered in the home.

You’ll also be able to build essential practical skills on placements, working alongside registered healthcare professionals. Our strong links with local NHS partners and position as an NHS ‘Hub’, delivering some rehabilitation programmes on campus, ensure you’ll gain diverse experience in a range of healthcare settings and be prepared for a physiotherapy career in a range of clinical areas. The course is approved by the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and by the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP), which enables graduates to apply for HCPC and CSP registration and practice as a physiotherapist on completion of this course. What's more, the course scored 95% for academic support in the National Student Survey 2024.
