As a Physical Geography student, you have the opportunity to study: environmental change, glaciology, fluvial processes, Earth resources, GIS and remote sensing, biogeography, and sustainability. Field trips are aplenty throughout your degree. Recent destinations include New Zealand, Crete and Ireland. Laboratory and computer practicals are also at the heart of our teaching, providing you with a range of opportunities to develop your subject-specific and transferable skills.

In Mathematics you will start by studying core modules in algebra, calculus and mathematical analysis, with optional modules available in probability, statistics, and differential equations. As you progress, you will be able to choose from a wide range of mathematics and statistics modules to suit your own interests. Our friendly and approachable staff are experts in their field, and the department has an enviable record of high student satisfaction and student employability. Mathematics has been taught at Aberystwyth since the foundation of the university in 1872, making it the oldest Mathematics department in Wales.
