About this course
Identify and refine a project, investigating and evaluating research methodologies and work processes that will support the sustained development of an in-depth individual study appropriate to this level of study;
Develop an understanding of how established research techniques can be used to further knowledge and inform practice in the discipline, demonstrate critical awareness of contemporary issues and debates at the forefront of photographic practice, and of theoretical and interdisciplinary contexts and questions, through the analysis of other forms (visual, oral and written);
Think speculatively, experiment and engage reflexively and draw on personal understandings and new insights in order to shape a creative voice, taking responsibility for contributing and leading in sessions, and provocatively developing initiative, contribute as a team member, work collaboratively and thereby enhance the learning environment;
Achieve a sophisticated level of skills as creative photographic image-makers, writers or curators articulating original ideas and imagery thereby establishing a platform for self-sustained practice or further academic study;
Engage in facilitated events with an awareness of potential career progression and develop an understanding of the professional standards necessary to work responsibly with those around them; fellow students and staff within the School or the broader University, and with diverse communities.
