About this course
This two year programme explores analytical and critical approaches to photographic imagery, together with the study of the critical context of photography. You will develop your technical, darkroom and studio skills whilst exploring images from a critical stance. At the end of the course you will be expected to create a professional portfolio of work to assist you in pursuing a successful career in the industry.
What makes HND Photography at HRC special? • You will work on live briefs and projects focusing on themes that are important to you • You will exhibit your work to the public in our David Gentleman gallery and at Hertford Theatre • You will have access to a wide range of equipment and a professional photographic studio • You will work with tutors who have a wide range of photographic skills and commercial experience • Our students create amazing work - previous students have worked on editorial briefs, taken landscape photographs on a college trip to Iceland and collaborated with fashion students on a fashion photography brief • You will build your own portfolio of work and learn how to market yourself as a photographer • You will work with employers on commercial photographic projects gaining valuable work experience
