About this course If you know you have potential but want support before starting a degree in Pharmacy or a pharmacy-related degree, then this extended degree course could be perfect for you.

This five year extended degree course studies the main areas of pharmacy and the pharmaceutical and chemical sciences. Over the first two years, you'll take the same modules as students of Pharmacy MPharm Year 1, while building your foundation in chemistry and mathematics. You will also explore other relevant subjects such as pharmacology, physiology and drug development. In your third year, you will join Level 5 of the Pharmacy MPharm programme.

This course has recently been updated in line with the General Pharmaceutical Council's standards for initial education and training for pharmacists, which enables pharmacy graduates to prescribe at the point of registration.

*To join Level 5 of Pharmacy MPharm, you need to pass all modules at each level. In addition, you also need to pass a calculations test and OSCE, complete your placement, and provide a satisfactory DBS check and health check.

Future Skills Embedded within every course curriculum and throughout the whole Kingston experience, Future Skills will play a role in shaping you to become a future-proof graduate, providing you with the skills most valued by employers such as problem-solving, digital competency, and adaptability.

At Kingston University, we're not just keeping up with change, we're creating it.

Career opportunities You’ll graduate ready for the next steps towards becoming a pharmacist in the UK. This will require a year’s foundation training in an approved pharmacy establishment and passing the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) registration exam.
