About this course
Treating individuals undergoing assessment for, or already diagnosed with, a mental illness can be challenging. The mental health nursing degree from Edge hill University will teach you to build relationships to encourage healthy behaviours and emotional wellbeing in patients.
Our BSc (Hons) Nursing (Mental Health) degree will prepare you to deliver compassionate and evidence-based care to adults and children with acute and complex mental healthcare needs. As a mental health nurse, you might work in a hospital, clinic or the community, providing support and treatment. Wherever you work, you’ll care for people with a diverse range of health conditions.
Take part in practical learning placements and simulated scenarios throughout the mental health nursing course to boost your hands-on experience and apply theory. Study biological, psychosocial and pharmacological factors, as well as core anatomy and assessment skills, to equip you for a rewarding and challenging career in mental health nursing.
When you’ve completed this course, you’ll be eligible to register as a qualified mental health nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Council.
