Nursing (Child)

It's hard to imagine a more fulfilling career than nursing. And if you want to make a real, positive difference to the lives of children and young people, studying child nursing is the gateway to a life’s work as a paediatric nurse. You’ll be taught the theory by our knowledgeable mentors. And you’ll gain valuable practical skills in this most rewarding of vocations in our award-winning medical campus, with its wealth of simulated, state-of-the-art wards and operating theatre. You’ll also boost your confidence and experience with a variety of placements in the community, supported by healthcare professionals.

Where could this take me?

The overwhelming majority of our students have careers as paediatric nurses. Our child nursing degree has a fantastic 100% employability rate - all our graduates are in work or study 15 months after they graduate.

Most work within the NHS, in a wide variety of paediatric settings, from hospital wards such as intensive care or oncology to outpatients, in mental health or education, or as health visitors. Some go on to research, to train others, or to private practice.
