About this course

Our two-year Foundation Degree prepares you for professional registration as a Nursing Associate, working alongside nurses to make a real impact on the quality of life and care for people across various age groups and healthcare settings.

As a registered Nursing Associate, you will play a crucial role in patient care, administering a variety of treatments, monitoring health and preventing ill-health and supporting individuals and families. You will work alongside registered nurses as part of the healthcare team, providing hands-on care in diverse clinical settings, including hospitals and community health and care environments.  

* Successful completion of this course makes you eligible to apply for professional registration as a Nursing Associate with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).

* Explores healthcare holistically, going beyond physical wellbeing to recognise the emotional, social, and psychological aspects of patient needs.

* Practice-based learning, simulation and clinical placements develop your hands-on experience under the guidance of experienced professionals.

In response to a high demand for the nursing associate role, we offer a route on to this course at our Coventry, Scarborough and London campuses, as well as from Wiltshire College and University Centre in Salisbury. The course was developed in collaboration with health and social care employers in Coventry and Warwickshire, Scarborough, Salisbury and Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust in London. Our practice learning collaborators provide clinical learning placements for students and input to the ongoing development and evaluation of the course.
