The main focus of the Music PGCE course is to apprehend how learners learn and experience through music. As one of the disciplines of the Expressive Arts of the new Curriculum for Wales, there is a practical and interactive opportunity, through music, to explore, respond and to create. The lectures offer an opportunity to study, discuss and to develop an understanding of how to create engaging, interesting and effective activities which combine Performing, Composing and Appraising. Through practical approaches, the course will focus on musical pedagogy and on effective teaching strategies that will lead to developing curiosity, creativity, critical thinking, self-confidence, self-esteem and resilience.
