About this course

The role of the midwife is vital. Supporting women through pregnancy, labour, birth and during the postnatal period is a truly fulfilling career. You’ll be making a difference to the lives of women and their families – starting right here with this degree in midwifery. You’ll spend half your time in theoretical study in our award-winning Allam Medical Building, with all the advantages of its state-of-the-art facilities. For the other half, you’ll be on clinical placement, learning through mentored practical experience the skills you’ll need to become a confident, effective and fully qualified midwife.

Why study at Hull?

Fantastic facilities: We’ve invested £28 million into our health campus. The award-winning Allam Medical building houses a suite of impressive learning areas including simulated birthing units, neo-natal wards and more. • Get paid £5,000 a year: Apply for at least £5k a year, depending on your personal circumstances, through the NHS Learning Support Fund. This is a yearly payment that you won’t have to pay back. • Accredited qualifications: The course is Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) accredited, so when you graduate, you’ll be eligible to register as a qualified midwife.
