Medieval & Early Modern History

This three year degree will allow you to specialise immediately in Medieval and Early Modern History. This means you will be exploring history from 900 to 1879. It is a unique opportunity to develop your knowledge and skills as a historian of this period. It will allow you to understand this period through multiple geographical locations and areas such as royal history, political history, social history, and cultural history. Among the many subjects taught you will gain in depth knowledge in, for example, Medieval society, the Tudor period, witchcraft, world trade, the Enlightenment and the French Revolution.

On this course you will:

Study key periods and events from Medieval Europe, the Wars of the Roses, the Renaissance and Reformation World and the Age of Revolution, 1776-1848.

Discover specialist subjects like the courts of Henry VIII, Louis XIV’s France, the eighteenth century Enlightenment era, and the cultural history of death.
