Media at Keele combines the theoretical and practical elements involved in the analysis and production of contemporary media. Explore a diverse range of media forms and outlets, developing key skills in communication and critical analysis, preparing you for a career in creative industries and many related fields.
Why choose this course?
On this creative course you will study the theoretical aspects of media, critically evaluate content and ideas, as well as develop practical skills through activities such as film making and editing. You will explore media in the context of business, politics and history, and will review and analyse a range of media forms such as social media and the news.
You will study media developments over time and apply your learning to consider influential factors such as culture and technology. This will inform your theoretical learning, before analysing key themes and concepts to later apply to your practical work.
You will be equipped with a wide range of skills that will enable you to produce high quality media content, as well as develop effective written and verbal communication, research competency and creative presentation methods.
