About this course

Our new BA Media, Film and Journalism degree builds on years of experience in teaching the creative industries at Bangor University. Our film, media and journalism graduates are creative and resilient problem-solvers, able to apply their skills, knowledge, and experience in a range of creative and communication media (including film, radio, podcasting, journalism, television and social media) to the real-world problems faced by society and business.

This course will help prepare you for the opportunities provided by the rapidly evolving worlds of media, film, and journalism. You will discover how film and television, journalists and publishers, media creators and media curators, creative industries and creative entrepreneurs generate opportunities for action while constantly influencing the ways we perceive the world.

Taught by leading analysts and practitioners, we will prepare you for the opportunities within the creative industries and beyond. Staff have a range of research interests including advertising, media regulation, privacy, digital journalism, political communication, online journalism, gender, professional writing, comics, visual culture, gaming, virtual worlds, global media, social networks, publishing and documentary.

‘Placement Year’ and 'International Experience Year’ options are available for this course. You will have the opportunity to fully consider these options when you have started your course at Bangor and can make an application for a transfer onto such a pathway at the appropriate time. You can find more information about these options on our website and if you have any questions, please get in touch.
