As the branch of engineering that involves the design, production, and operation of machinery, mechanical engineers must be able to combine engineering physics and mathematics principles with materials science.

You’ll also develop your programming skills in industry-standard languages like Matlab and for microprocessor systems, giving you everything you need to get started on your career in engineering.
Industrial placement year This programme gives you the opportunity to undertake a paid industrial placement year as part of the course. Our close industry links give you the platform to apply to a number of major organisations such as Mercedes-Benz Grand Prix Limited, BMW and EDF Energy.
