Mathematics (with a foundation year)

Our Foundation Year in Mathematics is ideal if you want to pursue a degree in mathematics, but your qualifications do not meet the entry requirements for a three-year course.

In the Department of Mathematics, you'll consolidate and develop your mathematical skills in new as well as familiar areas. After passing your Foundation Year, you can continue studying for a range of BSc degrees. Depending on your performance, you can study at MMath level.

Accreditation

This programme will meet the educational requirements of the Chartered Mathematician designation, awarded by the Institute of Mathematics and its Applications, when it is followed by subsequent training and experience in employment to obtain equivalent competences to those specified by the Quality Assurance Agency (QAA) for taught masters degrees
