About this course
Overview
Discover how maths is an integral part of our everyday lives with an understanding of the concepts, theories and applications that make sense of the world around us, from computer modelling and transport networks to the stock market and climate change. On our mathematics programme you will increase your familiarity with mathematical software, and build confidence in communicating mathematical arguments and conclusions.
Assessment
Students in the first year will be assessed through a variety of methods including group portfolios, weekly online quizzes, exams, excel tasks, and both group and individual programming tasks. In the second year, assessment methods include poster presentations and group presentations. Subsequently, assessments consist of a mix of coursework, applying knowledge, and closed-book on-campus exams testing theoretical understanding.
