About this course

This programme is perfect for students from a multitude of backgrounds such as Business, Media, Travel and Tourism, Sport, Hair and Beauty, Catering and Hospitality. The qualification will enable students to develop an understanding of leadership and management and the opportunities this will create for future career progression within a management role.

The top-up degree will focus on developing an understanding of: •Different leadership and management concepts •The role of leadership and management in organisations •Ethical Leadership and its impact on corporate social responsibility and sustainability

It will also provide students with the opportunity to develop their leadership and management skills through the application of theoretical approaches to assessed work and case-based studies, experimentation, collaboration, team work and the completion of a dissertation or research project. In addition, the course will enable students to reflect on their own personal and professional development.

A variety of assessment methods and blended learning approach will be used to enable learners to develop their academic and practical experience, whilst developing essential transferable and interpersonal skills for a future role within management.

Selby College has a dedicated HE room, extensive IT facilities and a well-stocked Learning Resource Centre with relevant texts, journals and e-resources which can be accessed on site and remotely.
