About this course

This interdisciplinary programme introduces students to the cultures and societies of Africa, Asia and the Middle East through their languages, literatures and screen culture. Students will choose to specialise in one particular region through their languages and module choices. Paired with Arabic, this combined honours programme also provides a solid grounding in Modern Standard and Classical Arabic as well as a broad knowledge of history, culture and religion in the Arabic world. Students are usually required to spend the third year of study at a university in the Middle East or on an equivalent programme elsewhere.
