About this course

Discover the effects of globalisation on our legal and human rights with this LLB International Law and Human Rights master's degree. You’ll graduate with a thorough understanding of international conventions, state responsibility, international dispute settlement and human rights responsibilities.

The programme will prepare you for a career in international or human rights law in governmental and non-governmental roles, or the private and commercial sectors.

You’ll begin your programme with a one-week intensive legal skills course to give you a grounding in the common law system, interactions of statute and judge-made law, and the impact of international conventions and model laws on national law.

Over the course of the programme you’ll develop your understanding of global legal frameworks along with the skills to analyse complex legal issues and evaluate legal or policy responses.

You'll choose from a wide range of modules including:

  • dispute settlement in international law

  • human rights in context

  • international criminal justice

  • armed conflict in international law

  • free speech and privacy on the internet
