About this course

The Foundation Year of the four-year programme aims to provide understanding of the key subjects in business to meet the prerequisites for study on the associated degree programme. The key areas of study will be effective communication and study skills combined with key subjects in business. You will be introduced to basic theories and concepts within the disciplines to provide a basic knowledge in all related subject areas. The programme will introduce you to essential areas of business necessary for progression onto business, accounting or law degrees. You will learn how to apply business concepts to real life organisations and develop communication, IT and study skills. Following completion of the Foundation Year, you will progress on to year one of your selected degree for the remainder three years of your course (four years if you are choosing to do the professional placement year).

This International Business Management course aims to prepare graduates for a long and successful career in today’s global marketplace. With technology enabling people from all over the globe to connect and collaborate like never before, professionals who understand how different cultural and economic influences impact business are highly sought after by organisations around the world. You will study at our University of Salford campus close to Manchester city centre but as part of your business degree you will have opportunities for international projects, study and exchanges.

A further opportunity for International Business Management students comes through our partnership with TAMK University in Finland. Through the dual award option, you have the chance to apply to study part of your course at Tampere University of Applied Sciences and graduate with two degrees. Tobias Reynolds did it; he says.

“The dual degree with TAMK University is a great way of getting two degrees for less than the price of one and having two great styles of teaching, at home and abroad.”
