About this course

We live in a world where business operations are becoming increasingly global in scale. National boundaries now matter very little to decisions about where goods are made and services provided.

By studying international business you will understand how this has come about, and what it means for today's business world.

This degree has economics at its core, covering micro and macroeconomics, but it is much broader than a standalone economics degree. It analyses the major external factors affecting global business, globalisation and applied policy.

Understanding the environment has never been more important. Our modern world uses a lot of energy, generates waste and pollution, degrades our environment, reduces biodiversity, and affects our health and welfare.

Environmental sustainability examines the interaction between people and their surroundings. You'll learn about the use of natural resources and how we can attain more sustainable lifestyles.

It can help you:

  • tackle pollution

  • ensure that new developments enhance rather than detract from their surroundings

  • offer communities the chance to have a real say in how people use their natural resources

You will also study the principles and policies relevant to the delivery of sustainable development in practice, and consider both the local and the global implications on natural resources.

You will develop specialist analytical and communication skills that will help you work effectively with communities, individuals, and other professionals.
