About this course

The BA (Hons) Integrative Counselling is a three-year course validated by Bath Spa University. The BA (Hons) Integrative Counselling currently runs for two days per week (this could be subject to change). It is designed to enhance skills and knowledge with particular reference to employment and the development of specialist areas of interest. The core integrative model (Humanistic/Psychodynamic/Cognitive-Behavioural) is built upon Clarkson’s relationship model and ongoing evaluation. It draws on a range of theories which help us to understand how human beings develop, how personality and emotional challenges emerge, and how we act in the face of universal issues of our existence. The aim of integrative counselling is to enable access to our whole self and treat the person as a whole. Havering Colleges, New City College is registered with the Office for Students.

On the BA (Hons) Integrative Counselling programme your study will be closely linked to your experience in the workplace. This is a classroom-based course incorporating work placement.

For full-time students, the course is studied over a period of three years. Attendance is 2 days per week plus completion of 150 client hours and completion of 60 hours of personal counselling. The course will take place at our Ardleigh Green Campus.

Students can progress from this course to work as a professional counselor/therapist to help people overcome their difficulties. It also provides the opportunity for advancement in a variety of counselling-related careers.
