Human Resource Management Top-Up

If you already hold a postgraduate diploma in human resource management, this course will allow you to top-up your studies to master’s level.

As part of this course, you’ll: • Complete an applied research project • Further your knowledge and understanding of people management, managerial and business practices • Critically evaluate and apply theory and techniques to a complex business issue in this field • Gain a strategic perspective people management practice in an organisational context • Practise making ethical and informed quantitative and qualitative professional judgements • Further develop creativity and transferable skills in an organisational and/or professional setting with awareness of inclusivity, sensitivity to equality, diversity, and culture

This course has been developed in-line with Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development’s (CIPD) standards. You’ll need to already have achieved a postgraduate diploma in human resource management, and membership of the CIPD at Level 7.

Research-led teaching Our teaching is informed by research and professional practice. Specialist dissertation tutors will teach research methods and support you to identify and refine your dissertation topic. Your dissertation supervisor will work with you on a one-to-one basis to help you produce your dissertation proposal and final thesis.

The academic community You’ll be encouraged to participate in the academic and practitioner communities by attending academic conferences, CIPD conferences and events, and the Leeds Business School Guest Lecture programme.
