About this course

The level 4 units in the first year of the HTQ will provide students with a broad introduction to the support professions found in the healthcare sector.

This would typically cover:

• Law Policy and Ethical Practice L4 • Anatomy and Physiology L4 • Supporting the Individual through Integrated Health and Social Care L4 • Principles of Health Education L4Professional Practice L4 • Evidence-Based Practice L4 • Professional Practice L4 • Effective Healthcare Practice L4

Students will gain a wide range of sector knowledge, tied to practical skills gained in evidence-based practice, personal research, self-study, directed study, and workplace learning and experience.

Our Level 5 (year 2) units are designed to support progression into relevant occupational areas in healthcare and students will concentrate on nursing as a particular aspect of healthcare practice.

Students will need to have access to relevant, suitable, and appropriate workplaces/placements before embarking on the unit of nursing.

By the end of level 5, students will have a solid understanding of nursing principles and their application in the healthcare sector. They will be able to evaluate and apply different problem-solving approaches and demonstrate effective performance in nursing. They will also possess the necessary qualities for employment in roles requiring personal responsibility and decision-making.
