About this course
The Pearson BTEC Higher National Certificate (HNC) is a highly regarded, nationally and internationally recognised, undergraduate level programme, equivalent to the first year of a university degree course. The course is Level 4 on the National Qualifications Framework and has been designed to offer a strong, sector-related emphasis on practical skills development, alongside the development of requisite knowledge and understanding of health and social care in the UK and relevant to healthcare on an international basis.
The qualification provides a thorough grounding in key concepts in healthcare professions' support including, law, evidence based practice, health inequality, reporting and record keeping in health practice. The course will include contemporary themes and current practice. All students will undertake a healthcare based work placements to develop their own professional practice and meet the requirements to work in the sector.
