About this course
This new MSc Global Film Industries offers a critical and practical study of contemporary global film cultures and histories of cinema, with an emphasis on the place of the Scottish industry in the world. It for those who want to work in the film industry, with a particular emphasis on those roles identified as key skills gaps – for example, entrepreneurship, marketing and project management. It will prepare students for a diverse range of professional roles in the local and the global film industry.
The course will appeal to those already working in areas of the film sector, who wish to progress to senior level in pre-production (finance, location), distribution (marketing, sales), exhibition (cinema, festival management), policy or film education by developing their knowledge of the global film industry and professionalising their leadership skills and managerial practice.
