The course will also engage with a range of positive contributions made by the black diaspora in literature, music, film, theatre and the arts, science, business, grassroots activism, and campaigns for social justice.
Diversity, difference, and social justice are the core themes being examined on this course. These components are embedded throughout the modules and are designed to allow exploration of global and ethical issues, together with an appreciation of cultural diversity and an awareness of human rights.
You will learn through real-life scenarios and teaching practices that allow for dynamic feedback whilst developing the ability to think critically and logically.
The course will explore personal narratives and histories, marginalised thinkers and activists and the reinterpretation of accepted discourses of ‘race’.
You will have the ability to work well individually as well as part of a team, both during classes and practice-based sessions. These requirements foster skills such as:
