This flexible joint honours programme enables you to study two different European languages in their diverse cultural contexts.

Ranking among the most widely spoken and useful world languages, German and Spanish are your gateway to a great many countries and cultures in Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean.

Through intensive language study, including a year abroad, your studies will give you the chance to gain professional skills in all aspects of German and Spanish, including:

* reading and listening

* writing and translating

* speaking and presenting

In addition to your language classes, you will explore aspects of German-speaking and Spanish-speaking cultures from the Middle Ages to the 21st century. Courses cover literature, cinema, history, politics, and languages in themed and comparative contexts.
