A new route to a rewarding career in medicine.Our Gateway2Medicine (G2M) programme offers young people from a widening access background in Scotland the opportunity to study medicine.
Our unique partnership with North East Scotland College (NESCOL) provides an accessible and supportive route into medicine, enabling applicants to reach their full potential and achieve their dream of becoming a doctor.
Students who successfully complete the one year G2M programme and meet UCAT and interview requirements will be granted a place on the University of Aberdeen MBChB degree programme.
Our G2M programme comprises elements of the University of Aberdeen’s longstanding Certificate in Pre-Medical Studies and the HNC/HND in Applied Sciences provided by NESCOL. Courses in Semester 1 (August to December) will be delivered by NESCOL at its Aberdeen City Campus. Semester 2 (January to May) will be based at the University of Aberdeen. The programme also includes a work experience. NHS Grampian has guaranteed every G2M student Healthcare Support Worker-level paid employment.
