About this course

Develop the skills to become an independent, innovative creative thinker and practitioner. You’ll enhance your portfolio and prepare for practice in the expanded field of the contemporary arts. Our MA Fine Art will provide opportunities for you to build advanced technical and theoretical problem-solving strategies as well as advanced interpretative abilities. As part of your course, you’ll: • Develop your motivations, ambitions and abilities as an artist • Explore a number of practices including painting, sculpture, print, installation, video, sound, virtual / augmented reality, performance and curating • Work on collective projects and events that will foster your team-working skills, adaptability and resourcefulness

You’ll increase your level of engagement through a series of practice modules that will encourage creative enquiry and activity. Your study will be supported by research methodologies, which will allow you to question and better understand your own creative practice. They’ll also allow you to develop new solutions to disseminate and promote your work.

Learning support You’ll be supported as you flourish into an independent, creative practitioner and thinker. Working collectively, you’ll develop skills of negotiation, adaptability and resourcefulness preparing you to respond to contemporary challenges in the field of art practice.

Specialist study spaces You’ll be taught through a combination of lectures, seminars, tutorials, studio activities, projects and events. Our studios, workshops and other practical facilities – such as theatre and performance spaces, screening facilities and recording studios – will offer a stimulating learning environment for your individual ambitions.
