About this course

Overview

Discover how finance and management drive business success by studying these two highly complementary disciplines together.

Our flexible MSc in Finance and Management course is perfect if you're passionate about both fields and want to keep your career options open. You’ll be able to tailor your course towards one discipline or the other, or balance your studies equally, uncovering how these areas overlap and enrich each other in many exciting and fascinating ways.

You don’t need to have studied finance, management or business before. You just need to enjoy working with numbers and people and be passionate about business. Equally, this course is a great choice if you’ve previously studied a different business specialism and want to add finance and management to your skillset to gain a competitive edge in the job market.

You'll delve into the roles of finance and management in business. You'll learn how financial markets operate, explore the services offered by the financial industry, and develop specialist expertise in accounting and finance. Simultaneously, you'll acquire the skills necessary for general management roles by learning to critically assess the relationship between organisations, their external contexts, and their management processes. You’ll understand how organisations function in theory and practice, and learn to make informed, evidence-based decisions on management theories.

Here at UEA, you’ll benefit from our strong connections with Norwich's Financial District, one of the largest in the UK, and enhance your learning with our additional training opportunities. In addition to your Master’s qualification, we offer support and access to online training for certification in Thomson Reuters Eikon and Datastream. You’ll be able to apply for scholarship to the CISI Introduction to Securities & Investment L3 exam every year. You’ll also be offered an academic rate to study for CII qualifications such as the CII R02 Investment Principles and Risk exam based upon your interest. After graduation, you’ll be prepared for a successful career in finance, management, or a combination of both, across various sectors including financial, non-financial, and public organisations.
