This course is for anyone looking to develop their filmmaking skills and gain experience working as a professional filmmaker and freelance content creator.

The BA (Hons) Film Production & Professional Practice qualification is a highly industry-focused study of film production, supporting you to work with live clients throughout your study as well as developing your portfolio, personal brand, and professional reputation. You will explore specialist technical skills and creative practice with the aim of developing your ability and confidence with filmmaking to become a skilled independent filmmaker with the ability to work within a freelance capacity or as part of a larger crew in a professional context.

BA (Hons) Film Production and Professional Practice will include an additional fee element in year 1 only to cover the cost of personal equipment require to study the course to the value of £1,200, increasing the year 1 fee to £8,400. The year 2 and year 3 fee will be £7,200 per year.

Your Year One course fee includes equipment for the course. You will receive a Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4K as part of the course so that you can complete productions using your own camera and have it for personal and client work outside of studies. We also have additional cameras, lenses and peripherals that you can use with your camera, depending on the shoot and your needs. The Pocket Cinema may change to a different model depending on when Black Magic’s catalogue is updated. The camera you would receive would be of a similar specification and is yours to keep.
