About this course

OVERVIEW

Creative storytelling is the core of the BA (Hons) Film and Moving Image Production, around which a multi-disciplinary student experience revolves. Story offers a catalyst for social and political change; the stories we tell about the world and the possible worlds we create are best placed to explore the human condition and its impact on how we think, act and conceive of ourselves.

INTEGRATED FOUNDATION (YEAR 0)

This course includes an integrated foundation year (Year 0), which promotes developing practical, technical and creative skills and confidence. Building on your prior experience, you will be introduced to some of our workshops to assist your skill development, with an increasing emphasis on professional standards and independent study. The course places emphasis on your personal commitment to study, while supporting you in your progression.

You do not need any prior experience of coding to participate, just a curiosity about creative computing and a desire to push your own practice digitally.

    YOUR FUTURE

The final year provides opportunities to write, produce and/or direct an original short film and submit it for selection for a special industry screening.

The course is ScreenSkills Select accredited, ensuring the curriculum offers a rigorous grounding not only for entry into, but to rapidly progress your career in the Film, High End Television (HETV) and commercial creative industries.

Learning in an environment designed to reflect contemporary industry practices will foster a detailed awareness of the opportunities the skills, knowledge and experience the contemporary industries need.
