On this exclusive degree course, we've combined the holistic investigative approach of a geographer with the applied skills of an environmental manager.

Fieldwork is a key element of this course, and trips are aligned with modules so you develop applied skills and gain practical experience. Recent trips have included residential courses across the UK, in places on our doorstep such as the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales, as well as further afield at international locations, such as Scandinavia and Barcelona. Small group teaching is another key course benefit, and there are strong links between course content and research projects led by our Ecosystems and Environment Research Centre.

Take your studies stateside At the heart of this course is the year you will spend with Toledo University in Ohio, USA - our exchange partner for over 30 years. Here, you will study a range of modules similar to those offered in year two at Salford, with support from tutors at Toledo and Salford throughout. Alongside making new friends and a lifetime of memories, you'll be inspired by Toledo’s Geography and Planning department, as you explore the physical and human landscapes of Ohio and surrounding areas.
