On our English and Creative Writing (with Foundation Year) course, you’ll develop the skills and techniques to write in various genres. This includes science fiction, fantasy, fairy tales, horror, crime, and children's fiction. You'll create new works and produce short stories, poetry and play scripts, exploring diverse literary forms and styles.

You can choose to study either English literature or English language with creative writing. With English literature you will cover topics ranging from the Renaissance to Romantic and Gothic works. You will also explore science fiction and contemporary literature. With English language you will develop skills in discourse and textual analysis. You will also study theoretical and applied approaches to linguistics.
