About this course
Electrical engineers design, develop, and maintain the complex systems that power our world, from renewable energy sources to consumer devices. They lead initiatives to advance technology and enhance current systems through their technical expertise and problem-solving abilities.Exciting project work that mirrors industry. Learn with internationally recognised researchers who are part of our Advanced Engineering Centre, and our Centre for Precision Health and Translational Medicine. Student-led Sustainable Technology and Engineering Projects (STEP) lab – working to solve energy challenges. Specialist facilities include flight and car simulators, wind tunnel, prototyping labs and workshops, CNC machines, robotics and VR labs. Professional engineers visit to share their experiences in guest lectures.
Our practical one-year Electrical Engineering BSc(Hons) top-up course allows you to build on your existing engineering foundation degree or HND to achieve a full honours degree qualification.
You’ll develop technical skills and knowledge through hands-on project work using specialist facilities, to help prepare you for your career.
