This course covers the archaeology and history of Ancient Egypt as well as its languages, including Coptic and Demotic; students acquire detailed knowledge of the cultures of Ancient Egypt, emphasising historical archaeology, landscape and the built environment, art, and the language and/or literature of Ancient Egypt; the course is appropriate for students who are prepared for graduate work and who wish to undertake research in the field of Ancient Egypt, but who need further training in either the language(s) or the archaeology of the region; students may choose either an archaeology or linguistic emphasis.
